THE PROJECT COVERS THE PURCHASE OF A FURTHER 100 MATTRESSES AND MOSQUITO NETS TO REPLACE THOSE CURRENTLY USED FOR BOYS AND GIRLS SLEEPING AT THE INSTITUTE
THOSE IN CHARGE OF THE CENTRE PROVIDING GRATUITOUS BOARD AND LODGING, SCHOLASTIC AND VOCATIONAL GUIDANCE SERVICES, ARE DOING A GREAT JOB WITH THE MEANS AT THEIR DISPOSAL TO RECOVER THESE CHILDREN FROM THE STREETS OR FROM DISTRESSED FAMILIES, FAMILIES LIVING IN POVERTY WITHOUT THE POSSIBILITY OF ANY KIND OF AID.

Dearest Cheikh, you came into our lives quite by chance and it was love
at first sight ... you gave us strength and courage, and you made us feel better people in helping you and in learning that you had become the second best in your class at school and had succeeded in gaining an average of eight and a half in your marks, then yesterday (08/05/2016) all of a sudden we heard that you had gone, leaving us in total desperation, and for a minute we tried to find an answer to all this but in vain.
Today we realize that it was you who had given us that hope and strength to do something for others as well and not just for ourselves, and we want to carry on doing so with others, also in your name, to start with by donating your equipment to someone else and committing ourselves to help still more people ...
Thank you Cheikh for we have now understood your message ... But we shall miss you; now that you’re a little angel please watch over us from heaven above and help us along our path, together ...

GRAN BASSAM HOSPITAL
GRAN Bassam is the ancient capital of the Ivory Coast, now transferred to Abidjan, standing on the delta of River Comoe in an area where malaria is endemic. The fine colonial style buildings are evidence of its past wealth but also of its rapid decline and abandon. Luxuriant vegetation sprouts out from empty windows and collapsed roofs, with walls worn by time and its hospital, reduced to practically a little more than a poorly equipped medical unit, had not escaped from the general decline.
And yet it should have served a district with 300,000 people and approximately 2,500 newborn babies. Around 30% of childbirths in Africa have complications, with the mothers accused of being responsible for these abnormalities, likely to have been partly resolved by transporting the patients to hospitals in Abidjan.
Pressed by the mayor Jean Michel Moulod, we started to reconstruct the hospital, working on the old block to build a new gynaecological ward and equipping it, thanks to the help of GALLIERA HOSPITAL and IST in Genoa, with modern equipment, an ambulance and The initial commitment was followed up by numerous shipments and today the hospital has a general ward with 30 beds, a gynaecological medicin
ward with 15 beds, an operating theatre, analysis laboratoryand casualty ward and finally ... (2012) a second ambulance to complete the fleet of vehicles...
